Back in March 2019, we have realised the necessity of recognising as an organisation the pressing urgency of the climate emergency. We decided to get on board by starting to look at our own environmental practice as a Charity Organisation. As a result we have devised and reviewed our Environmental Policy. Furthermore, we have declared a climate emergency and we have actioned a community climate emergency action plan.
After a consultation with people from our community, residents within the Treverbyn Parish and beyond, we consequently came up with a plan to start engaging our community more towards actions reducing carbon footprint within our wider community. And now, we have a community climate emergency action plan.
This September 2019, we’ll start our community climate action plan with the theme of transport. We have many activities and events related to it from small to big and hope you too may join in. Stay tuned for community led action for our world. We believe change begins at home and by home, we mean community. Lastly, we are hoping that by the actions we engage in today will have a positive impact for our future society.
If you’d like to join in, start by using this useful tool to measure your carbon footprint Let us know how you get on, measuring is the first step, don’t worry where you are it’s the actions you take to improve that count. And, you don’t have to tackle everything at once, small steps all add up. The main thing is starting to be more aware.
